Huawei's Zurich Research Center is a leading European hub for cutting-edge computer vision and AI research. We are seeking a passionate and innovative Research Scientist to drive next-generation breakthroughs in 3D modeling, depth estimation, and 3D foundation models. Your work will power future Huawei products in mobile phones, XR, robotics, and beyond.
What You’ll Work On
- Designing and developing high-quality depth estimation algorithms from multi-view, monocular, stereo, or hybrid inputs.
- Building robust and scalable 3D scene reconstruction and modeling systems.
- Researching and adapting 3D foundation models (e.g., NeRFs, 3D Gaussian Splatting, implicit representations) for downstream tasks.
- Creating efficient and compact models suitable for deployment on edge and mobile devices.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to push the limits of real-time 3D perception.
- Publishing papers at top computer vision venues.
Qualifications
- PhD or MS with research experience in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Graphics, or related fields.
- Strong publication record in top-tier venues (CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS, SIGGRAPH, ECCV, etc.).
- Proven experience in one or more of the following:
- 3D reconstruction, neural rendering, depth estimation
- 3D foundation models and pretraining
- Efficient model design (quantization, distillation, pruning, NAS, etc.)
- Solid coding skills in Python and deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch).
- Experience with real-time or on-device inference is a plus.
- Solid coding skills in C++ is a plus.
