Now we are looking for a: Senior Researcher - New Storage Media Application
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the construction of storage system technology compensation for tapes/disks/disks, etc., to break through and solve the contradiction between the cost of warm and cold media, read and write latency, and performance integration, and build a new generation of media that maximizes compensation for warm and cold storage systems.
- Research, design, develop, and validate the key technologies of new storage medium application innovation.
- Responsible for the construction of algorithms and capabilities such as data arrangement, application feature identification, data classification, IO scheduling, and task orchestration for new warm and cold media storage systems, solving systematic problems such as slow reading and writing of warm and cold media, and responsible for the reliability of new warm and cold media storage systems.
- Optimize performance and cost to enhance the comprehensive competitiveness of storage products in warm and cold data scenarios.
- Responsible for industry insights and technical planning for new storage media applications, researching technology development trends in the evolution of warm and cold, disk control collaboration, software and hardware integration, and leading related technical cooperation.
Requirements
- Have been engaged in storage systems or related fields (cloud/disk) for more than 6 years, have led the application of related media in storage systems, have business success experience, and are major contributors to the core competitiveness of products.
- Keen technical insight, able to deduce the correct technological development and maturity rules in the storage or media field, and translate them into storage products.
- Have an in-depth understanding of the principles of warm and cold media (one or more types) such as disks/tape/optical disks, and be familiar with their core application scenarios.
- Be able to design system-level solutions and architecture based on the characteristics of the medium to take advantage of the new media and overcome its disadvantages.
- Understand storage system data arrangement, application feature identification, data classification, IO scheduling, task orchestration and other related algorithms, and be familiar with the principles of storage system reliability improvement and cost optimization.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, team-work spirit
- Fluent in written and spoken English
