With 28 sites across Europe and 2000 researchers, Huawei’s European Research Institute (ERI) oversees fundamental and applied technology research, academic research cooperation projects, and strategic technical planning across our network of European R&D facilities.

ERI is looking for an Intern currently enrolled at PHD level for Research in Future Computing, the successful candidate will join Huawei’s Institute of Strategic Research - European team and will be based in Zurich Research Center.

Your main responsibilities:

• From a technical point of view, exploit and conduct insight activities of new technologies. Including but not limited to the future computing architectures, including Optical computing, Near/In memory computing, Domain-specific architecture, Interpretable geometric manifolds, Knowledge computing, and Autonomous systems.
• Analyze the potential value, technical breakthrough and technical difficulties of new technologies related to future computing architecture and provide valuable comments. Make in-depth technology and industry analysis reports, providing an overview reference for the strategic decision-making.
• Involve in tracking the latest technology achievements in the related fields through international conferences, publications and business exhibitions, etc.
• Organize seminars and workshops in related fields and maintain regular technical exchanges with academic and business partners.

Requirements:

• Education background in computer science or related disciplines. Currently enrolled at PHD is required.
  
• Work experience in both academic and industrial institutions is preferred.
• Keen insight and analytical ability of future computing.
• Fluent speaking & writing in English.
• Strong capabilities of teamwork and self-learning.

• Candidate needs to have a general vision or professional connections to resources in the areas described above in Europe, including research institutes, universities, and companies.
