The Computer Vision Lab at Huawei Zurich Research Center (directed by Dr. Dengxin Dai) is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of computer vision research and development. We specialize in developing innovative solutions that leverage advanced computer vision algorithms to provide the best photo and video quality for our flagship mobile phones such as the P series and Mate series. Our team consists of passionate research scientists and engineers who share similar background (e.g. PhD degrees in computer vision from top schools like ETH Zurich) and are driven by a shared vision of creating impactful solutions that make a difference in the world.
We are seeking an experienced and accomplished Senior Computer Vision Research Scientist with a specialization in video stabilization, focusing on diffusion models, deep learning, and CUDA GPU programming. The successful candidate will lead the research and development efforts in advancing video stabilization techniques to enhance the quality and stability of videos in various applications such as mobile phone cameras, cinematography, and robotics.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced video stabilization algorithms leveraging diffusion models, deep learning techniques, and CUDA GPU programming.
2. Conduct in-depth research to understand the underlying principles of video stabilization and explore novel approaches to address challenges such as camera motion, jitter, and distortion.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, hardware engineers, and product managers to integrate video stabilization solutions into commercial products and applications.
4. Mentor and guide junior researchers and engineers in the team, providing technical expertise, feedback, and support.
5. Stay abreast of the latest developments in computer vision, machine learning, and GPU technology, and evaluate their applicability to video stabilization problems.
6. Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals, and contribute to the company's intellectual property through patents and technical reports.
Requirements:
1. PhD degree in Computer Vision, Deep Learning, or a related field
2. Extensive experience (+5 years) in research and development of video stabilization algorithms, with a strong focus on diffusion models, deep learning techniques, GPU programming, and camera hardware.
3. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, and CUDA for GPU-accelerated computing.
4. In-depth understanding of video processing concepts, motion estimation, feature tracking, and optimization algorithms.
5. Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar, for developing and deploying machine learning models.
6. Strong mathematical background with knowledge of linear algebra, calculus, and optimization methods.
7. Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
8. Extensive experience in supervising a small team of junior scientists/engineers
