The Computer Vision Lab (directed by Dr. Dengxin Dai) at Huawei Zurich Research Center is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of computer vision research and development. We specialize in developing innovative solutions that leverage advanced computer vision algorithms to provide the best photo and video quality for our flagship mobile phones such as the P series and Mate series. Our team consists of passionate research scientists and engineers who share similar background (e.g. PhD degrees in computer vision from top schools like ETH Zurich) and are driven by a shared vision of creating impactful solutions that make a difference in the world.
We are seeking talented and experienced Senior Computer Vision Research Scientists to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Computer Vision Research Scientist, you will play a key role in driving research and development efforts to advance the state-of-the-art in computer vision and camera technologies. You will work closely with a team of researchers to design, implement, and evaluate novel algorithms and techniques to solve challenging computer vision problems.
Responsibilities:
-Lead research initiatives to develop innovative video processing and scene understanding algorithms and techniques.
-Design and implement state-of-the-art computer vision models and systems.
-Conduct experiments and evaluations to assess the performance of developed algorithms.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate your computer vision solutions into our products and services.
-Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in computer vision research and technology
-Publish papers at top-tier venues (e.g. CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, PAMI, IJCV, SIGGRAPH , NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML)
-Establish and manage collaborations with university research labs
-Supervise research engineers and interns
-White patents for your algorithms (when necessary)
Requirements:
-PhD or equivalent experience in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
-Proven track record of conducting cutting-edge research in computer vision, preferably with a focus on areas such as video restoration, video processing, and video scene understanding.
-Strong record of publications in top-tier computer vision conferences or journals
-Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or C++.
-Proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
-Experience with computer vision libraries and tools such as OpenCV.
-Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
-Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
-High level of resilience to tackle very challenging problems and flexible to adjust in this fast-moving field
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience with computational photography, efficient neural network architectures, and video processing
-Experience in developing and deploying neural network models to edge devices
-Experience in working with real camera setups including sensor calibration and synchronization
