Huawei’s ERI includes the new Zurich Research Centre (ZRC), located in Zurich, Switzerland. A major element of ZRC is a new research laboratory focused on research in the area of computing systems (new computing and storage hardware, new software, new algorithms).

The research work of the lab will be carried out not only by Huawei’s internal research staff but also by our academic research partners in universities across Europe. The lab will provide an “open research environment” where academics will be encouraged to visit and work on fundamental long-term research alongside Huawei staff in an environment that, like the best universities and research institutes, is open and conducive to such scientific work.

For the new ZRC Laboratory, we are seeking candidates for research on future storage systems. One of the directions is Processing-In Memory in modern computing systems.

 Future Storage Systems –  Storage Accelerator Technical Specialist

Responsibilities

• Take charge of technical insights and technical planning for the storage accelerator direction of the Zurich storage architecture innovation team.
• Design the combination of software and hardware for key algorithms and processes in the storage domain and design the accelerator architecture (collaborate with the HiSilicon team).
• Take charge of efficient technical cooperation with storage accelerators on key technologies.

Requirements

• A Master/PhD degree in Computer Science or more than 5 year's experience in storage system design/optimization in related large companies;
• Deeply understand the industry and technology development trends in the IT field, chips, hardware, and accelerators.
• Experience in the design of combined software and hardware systems
• Experience in accelerator design, such as DPU, SmartNIC, FPGA, ASIC, etc.;
• Experience in chip design

• Design experience of dedicated chips and accelerators in the storage field
