Compute Technology Expert – Research & Technology Strategy
About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Compute Technology Expert to join our Switzerland Research Center and play a key role in shaping the future of computing and AI technologies.
In this strategic position, you will collaborate closely with global technology planning teams, headquarters in China, local R&D teams, and product organizations to define and drive both short- and long-term technology strategies.
You will be responsible for identifying emerging technology trends, exploring breakthrough innovations, and establishing strategic partnerships with leading academic researchers, innovative startups, and technology organizations across Europe and the UK.
The role offers an opportunity to influence next-generation computing technologies and drive innovation that will shape future enterprise and consumer experiences across both general-purpose computing and AI computing domains.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technology Strategy & Roadmap Development
Analyze long-term challenges, emerging trends, and breakthrough opportunities in computing and AI technologies.
Identify promising research directions, cutting-edge technologies, and leading experts through in-depth technical analysis and engagement with the research community.
Collaborate with global technology teams to define and refine short- and long-term technology roadmaps, translating strategic priorities into actionable R&D initiatives.
Provide technical insights and recommendations to support strategic technology planning and investment decisions.
2. Technology Scouting & Strategic Opportunities
Identify and evaluate external research capabilities, emerging technologies, and potential collaboration opportunities aligned with the organization's strategic priorities.
Engage with leading universities, research institutions, start-ups, venture capital firms, and industry experts to stay at the forefront of technological developments.
Assess innovative technologies and research breakthroughs for their potential commercial and strategic impact.
Proactively identify and communicate opportunities for technology partnerships, strategic investments, and potential acquisitions.
3. Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem Development
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with leading academic researchers, startup founders, CTOs, and other key technology stakeholders.
Develop strategic collaborations with universities, research institutions, and innovative companies across Europe and the UK.
Facilitate joint research initiatives and technology partnerships that deliver measurable research outcomes, technical advancements, and business value.
Act as a bridge between external innovation ecosystems and internal R&D and product teams to accelerate technology development and adoption.
Qualifications & Experience
Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or a related technical discipline. A PhD is highly desirable.
Strong academic or research background in areas such as computer architecture, high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence, networking, or related fields.
Demonstrated research excellence, ideally supported by publications at leading international conferences or in reputable scientific journals.
Excellent written and spoken English communication skills. Mandarin Chinese language proficiency is an advantage.
Technical Skills & Competencies
1. Deep Technical Expertise
Strong technical foundation and in-depth expertise in at least one of the following areas:
Computer architecture and processor technologies (CPU, GPU, NPU, DPU)
High-performance computing (HPC) and cluster computing
AI computing infrastructure, AI servers, and accelerators
Memory systems and high-speed interconnects
Hardware/software co-design and system-level optimization
Server architecture and next-generation computing platforms

Strong ability to quickly understand new technical domains through academic literature, research conferences, and engagement with leading researchers.
