With 20+ sites across Europe and 1500 researchers, Huawei’s European Research Institute (ERI) oversees fundamental and applied technology research, academic research cooperation projects, and strategic technical planning across our network of European R&D facilities. Huawei’s ERI includes the new Zurich Research Center (ZRC), located in Zurich, Switzerland. A major element of ZRC is a new research laboratory focused on fundamental research in the area of computing systems spanning new hardware, new software, new algorithms.
For the Strategy Planning department at the Zurich Research Center, we are currently looking for an outstanding Research Intern for a 6-months' program.
We are looking for a motivated intern to join this effort and contribute in the following areas:
- Analyze the Horizon project, find out the suitable projects relevant with new material focusing on radio frequency, optoelectronics, and passive components
- Search for the talent professors in Europe, explore advanced computing technology clues under available processes, including new storage media and cutting-edge technologies in the Beyond CMOS direction
- Search for resources relevant with advanced computing technology clues under available processes, including new storage media and cutting-edge technologies in the Beyond CMOS direction
- The new materials will be interested by wireless long-term technical planning. They will be Power amplifier (gallium oxide related power amplifier, diamond-based power amplifier, etc), Filters (diamond-based filter, topology filter, etc) or Isolators (YIG, Hex Magnetic, Topology, etc)
- The new materials found for long-term technical planning of optoelectronics will be Laser, Modulators/Optical Switches (High Photoelectric Coefficient Materials and Devices) or Optical amplifier (quantum dot optical amplifier)
- The new materials found for long-term technical planning for passive components and materials will be Inductors (ultra-low loss magnetic powder, metal magnetic film, etc)., Capacitor (new materials such as MLCC) or Heat dissipation: (ultra-high thermal conductivity TIM materials, nano copper, etc).

Requirements
- Currently pursuing a MSc or PhD in Material Science or any related fields at a reputable university.
- Excellent communication and writing skills in English.
